Fenerbahce have emerged as a likely destination for Mesut Ozil should he leave Arsenal this summer, according to The Telegraph.
Ozil – like Alexis Sanchez – has yet to commit his future to the club and has family links in Turkey.
The report suggests Arsenal would be willing to listen for offers of £30million for the playmaker.
Robin van Persie is expected to leave Fenerbahce at the end of the season, which will free up big money for wages, and Ozil is one of the players being considered to replace him as the club’s marquee player.
Ballack believes he has everything he needs to fulfill his potential at Arsenal and a move to the Turkish Super League would represent a backwards step in his career.
‘Ozil is too good to play in that league,’ the former Germany and Chelsea star told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast.
‘He’s playing at a top club in Arsenal and he’s a fantastic player – he has what not many footballers have.
